Awesome navigation in the backcountry

Upgraded to Premium yearly on the site to get all the features in the app and website. LOVE it. Don’t even use my Garmin Edge anymore. I use the Offline Maps feature ALL THE TIME. These guys are constantly updating and improving the app. Thumbs up!

Continually adding great new features

Love that directional arrows are now part of navigating routes. And I like that I can RSVP to event pages and they show up in a dedicated page ready to go.

Still Wont Pair With Scosche Rhythm+

This had become my favorite iPhone ride tracking app. Unfortunately, it still wont recognize my Scosche Rhythm+ Heart Rate monitor (the best non-cheststrap HR monitor currently available) which means I have to use a different app since I refuse to go back to a cheststrap style HR monitor. Note to RWGPS team: Health, Strava, and Wahoo Fitness apps all recognize the Scosche, so its definitely not an iOS issue. Edit: Even the crappy UA MapMyRide+ app can do this. How hard can it be?

Functional

This app is very functional. It appears to track well and generally do an acceptable job with speed. Very similar to map my ride without annoying advertisements. Does not seem to share data with other health apps. Full functionality appears to be only via a very expensive seven day only fee! Either make it free or charge a reasonable one time amount for the app.

Turn by turn with some bugs

For someone who has no sense of direction this app is wonderful. I go on a lot of group rides with preset routes. The printed directions are usually too small for eyes over 40, so this app fills in nicely. Ive used the app for over 1 year now on dozens of rides. Generally, the app does a good job of providing turn by turn directions on its own or when paired with my Wahoo Rflkt. I have had some rides where the app will seem to freeze and no current data is displayed on my Rflkt but it eventually recovers and there is no data loss in the end. I tend to take a lot of pictures while I ride which seems to correlate with some (but not all) of the freezing instances. On todays ride, the app was tracking my speed but it would not display on Rflkt. It is possible that some of the odd behavior is a hardware issue caused by my iPhone 6 getting too warm on long summer rides.

Mistake, poor value

First of all, become familiar with the free app before you even think of a paid subscription that is likely not worth the money. I paid $6 for the 1st month and they stole another $6 from me before I had a chance to cancel. Second, although the app does offer numerous navigation setting, I found the basic Google Maps app did a better job out of the box when I needed guidance the most. The trick is getting your route into Google Maps. Finally, planning turn-by-turn routes online from a PC works pretty good, but you cant do it from an iPhone. Unfortunately, I cant recommend anyone spend money on this app after my experience using it on a multi-day solo bike tour. The nagvigation let me down when I needed it most and seemed to randomly change between audio/visual cues.
